Fiscal Cliff deal extends tax credits for wind power

Included in the fiscal cliff agreement: an extension of tax credits for wind power. That's welcome news to employees at Siemens Wind Energy Plant in Fort Madison.

Company officials there said it opens the door for more growth in the coming year.

However several wind project developers had already advanced orders in case congress did not extend tax credits.

Siemens said 2012 was a record year in terms of wind project installations.
