It's the third day of Kwanzaa.
And in Rock Island, that calls for a celebration.
Ebony Expressions and the Martin Luther King Junior center hosted the event Friday.
Kwanzaa is a seven night celebration that keeps principles and practices of the African culture alive.
Tonight's event had dancing, singing, and the reading of the seven Kwanzaa principles.
Community members said Kwanzaa is all inclusive.
"It's always a special time for us to come together as a community, an African American Community, but even beyond that it embraces everyone still," said Dorian Byrd, director of the Imani Dancers.
