Be a Tourist in Your Own Backyard Weekend

Don't let the winter blues get you down.

It's time to rediscover the Quad Cities with the bi-annual, ‘Be a tourist in your own backyard weekend.'

From January 18 through 21, the Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau is hosting a fun filled weekend of discounts.

There's a coupon booklet with specials at hotels, shops, and restaurants all over the Quad Cities.

Highlights include a winter wine event at the River Music Experience and free tours at Isabel Bloom.

Folks with the QCCVB said you don't have to spend a lot of money to enjoy an affordable weekend getaway.

"You kind of forget about all the fun things that we have to do here in the Quad Cities, things you would normally do when you go somewhere else on vacation, so this is a way to bring attention to what you can do here in the Quad Cities," said Jessica Waytenick of the QCCVB.

Coupon books are available at the QCCVB office in Moline and participating weekend locations or through ‘Popular Links' at the top of the page.
