Use Caution When Using Propane Tanks

If you have a propane tank, be careful how you use it during the winter months. That's the message from the Iowa Department of Public Safety.

They say if you have a propane system, have it inspected by a qualified technician.

Also, don't use an outdoor propane appliance to heat your home inside, especially during a power outage due to possible carbon monoxide poisoning.

And if you suspect a leak, take action right away by turning off the supply valve, and leaving the area immediately.
