With snow finally on the ground, local skiers can now start hitting the slopes.
Ski Snowstar opened today in Andalusia. They opened late this year due to unseasonably warm temperatures earlier this month.
But now, with below freezing conditions and a fresh base of snow, Snowstar officials are now looking forward to the winter season.
"We always like to be open about a week earlier, that hurts a little bit," said Ed Meyer, General Manager for Snowstar. "But getting some snow on the ground gets everybody in the mood, so I really can't complain."
Snowstar is also adding some exciting new features including a timing system for their race team and updates to their terrain park.
