Only 41 Electric Vehicles Registered in Iowa

Electric cars may be the wave of the future, but gas still rules the road in Iowa.

Just 41 pure electric vehicles are registered in the state.

Engineers say Iowa needs better infrastructure before that number can grow. Just 33 public battery charging stations are currently up and running.

Experts in the field say electric vehicles will remain a niche product until manufacturers lower costs and develop a shorter charging time.
