Illinois lawmakers are scaling back January's lame duck session, but Governor Pat Quinn is confident what needs to get done, will get done.
Quinn said he talked with legislative leaders earlier this week and believes there will still be "ample time" to do the work that's needed.
On Monday, the state senate canceled its last 3 days of next week's session, and the house has called off its first four days.
Lawmakers are expected to deal with a wide range of issues from pension reform and gambling expansion, to legalizing gay marriage.
