Hispanic Holiday Celebration in the QC

An Hispanic holiday tradition was celebrated with pride around the Quad Cities Sunday.

A La Posada event was held at Casa Guanajuato's new community arts center.

The Mexican holiday celebrates the nine days leading up to Christmas.

A live show, food, and piñatas were just some parts of the celebration.

Folks with Casa Guanajuato said it's an important tradition to bring to the community.

"It kind of is a time to bring families together to celebrate, and yes Christmas is a big important part of it." said it," said Margie Mejia-Caraballo of Casa Guanajuato.

There was a La Posada celebration at the Quad Cities Botanical Center today as well.
