Despite efforts to revamp Davenport's Hilltop Campus Village, the area is still struggling. But students at Saint Ambrose are researching what they can do to help.
Students in an entrepreneurship class have been studying the neighborhood to see how they could help revitalize it.
Since the area is right next to campus, they say it's critical for the growth of the school. Students say the weeks-long project was an eye-opening experience.
"We've really come to find out why people aren't going down there," said Alissa Morrison, a Senior at St. Ambrose. "Safety issues, not being an attractive area. Not a lot down there. We're kind of discovering what can be done and what is being done to make it a hub for the area."
The school hopes to continue examining the area and helping it develop and grow.
