Scammers target Muscatine

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. 

The Muscatine Police Department is warning residents about scammers posing as publishers clearing house giveaway employees.  

The crooks tell people they've won money, but to access it, they have to go to Walmart and buy a Green Money Pak Scratch Card, then call them back and give them the numbers.  The cards are actually pre paid money cards which the crooks access and steal. 

Police said do not give these people any private information and if contacted, hang up immediately.
