If you're cooking for guests over the holidays, be careful how you prepare the food.
That's a warning from the Illinois Department of Public Health. To help keep your guests from getting sick...
-Avoid cross contaminating raw meat with vegetables and other cooked foods.
-Never use a utensil on cooked foods that was used on uncooked foods, unless it's been washed.
-Always use a food thermometer on cooked meat to ensure it has been properly cooked.
-And refrigerate any leftovers within two hours.
