IL Supreme Court says Gov. Quinn can close prisons

A win for Governor Pat Quinn.

The Illinois Supreme Court has sided with the governor in his fight to close prisons and other correctional facilities to save money. The justices ordered the withdrawal of a preliminary injunction filed by AFSCME workers that stopped Quinn from closing the facilities. There are still several other court actions on the issue that are yet to be resolved.
