Davenport hires consultant for casino deal

Davenport has hired a consultant to help the city purchase Rhythm City Casino. Gary Buettner, the former executive vice president and chief financial officer of Jumer's will review the $46 million asset purchase agreement. The Isle of Capri currently owns the casino and the nonprofit Riverboat Development Group holds the gambling license. The city council voted to buy the casino back in October.
