Parents if your kids go to Davenport Schools, you may have to reschedule your summer vacation.
The Davenport School Board will submit a waiver to the Department of Education to start school on August 12th next year.
Classes started on the 13th this year.
Davenport School leaders said if classes start early, finals will be before winter break.
Those opposed to starting early said it put students' jobs and the harvest in jeopardy.
Some parents were also concerned about schools that don't have air condition, but we're told many of those schools are getting the issue taken care of.
