IL license plate prices going up

Illinois drivers, get ready to shell out a couple more dollars for your car.

Vehicle owners will pay an extra $2 for license plates next year. That brings basic license plate renewal charges to $101. This after Governor Quinn approved the charge to help repair and maintain state parks.

The registration fee increase goes into effect January 1st.
