The flu is more rampant this year. That's the word from Illinois health officials,
Who are urging people to get their flu shot. Flu season typically runs from October to May, with the peak around January.
But the state's Department of Public Health says the number of cases is already higher than what they've seen in previous years.
Health leaders say virtually everyone should get a flu shot each year. The exceptions are babies under 6 months old, and people who are allergic to the vaccine.
