Fire rips through a former Clinton County restaurant.
Firefighters were called to Mac's Triangle around 4:30 Thursday morning, after a volunteer firefighter spotted the blaze on his way to work.
Fire crews found heavy smoke coming from the building, and flames coming from the basement.
Wheatland firefighters were assisted at the scene by Calamus and Lowden Volunteer Fire Departments, Wheatland Ambulance and the Clinton County Sheriff's Office.
The Iowa State Fire Marshal's Office was called to assist in the investigation.
