Moline could welcome a new medical complex in the near future.
Before that can happen, Moline city council members will vote on creating a TIF district south of Avenue of the Cities on 41st Street.
The former city dump land would be home to a new Genesis Medical Center.
City leaders say a new center would be a game changer for the area.
"Services to the community they currently now they either have to leave the area for in some cases a long way to Peoria," says Ray Forsythe, Moline Economic Development Director. "Some people go to Rochester, some people go to Chicago and elsewhere in the Quad Cities. They're going to have a lot more opportunities in Moline."
City leaders will discuss the plans at tonight's meeting which is at 6:30 p.m. at city hall.
