After a razor thin vote, the Rock Island County Board has chosen a new leader.
"It is just something I always wanted to try and I look forward to the challenges we have on the county level," Phil Banaszek, new Rock Island County Board Chairman said.
Phil Banaszek will take over as County Board Chairman. He has been on the board for almost two decades serving the 9th District.
Banaszek will replace Jim Bohnsack. Bohnsack decided to give up the chairman seat earlier this year after leading the county for ten years.
