They say good things come to those who wait, but one Rock Island woman is showing better things come to those who take action.
Kristina Brown was presented with a check Friday night for $3,500 from Royal neighbors. Brown founded the non-profit organization, Integrity Arts and Culture Association back in 2002. The money will help her continue to empower women and children through the arts.
"It means so much that royal neighbors believes in the vision and the mission of our organization and was willing to water the seed that i planted and help us to grow," said Brown.
Royal neighbors has given more than $1 million to help families and women achieve their goals.
