A Rock Island Arsenal employee is being recognized for her work in creating jobs for the blind.
Joan Wysoske was honored today with the Performance Excellence Award from the National Industries of the Blind.
She was chosen because of her work with a contracting program at the Arsenal that creates positions for the blind.
Wysoske says they are no different than any other employee.
"They're an integral part of the team," Wysoske said. "They train the same way, they use the same systems, they interact with all the other team members. Matter of fact we have a trivia team that's called 'The Closers' and they play in the Arsenal Trivia Contest each month."
Wysoske says they hope to add more jobs in the next few months.
