Some QCA families will have a very Merry Christmas thanks to Illinois state employees.
Workers from all different state organizations donated truck loads of food and toys Thursday to the River Bend Foodbank and Toys for Tots.
Workers say they see the struggles that local families face every day and want to do everything they can to make a difference.
"It's just crazy," says Tammy Rotz, a case worker for the Department of Human Services. "I think the happiest thing was the Marine that was here for Toys for Tots and she had to call for backup because there was no way he could take it all home"
The state workers also donated more than $2,000 for both groups.
