Local authors were out signing books for fans Saturday in Moline.

It was set up by the Midwest Writing Center in the Yonkers Court in South Park Mall.

Authors like John Williams, say it's hard to spend so much time on a book and then have no one read it, so events like this are very important to promote their works.

"Writing is a very difficult hard thing and when you accomplish a book it's nice to have somebody allow you to present it to the public so you can sell it and everyone likes to make a few dollars." 

Many of the authors books including black sails are available on Amazon.
