Fort Madison fire

Flames burned through downtown Fort Madison, Iowa early Saturday morning.

It was just after 4 a.m. when firefighters got the call that a large building that takes up about a third of the block was up in flames.

Neighboring fire departments responded to help put out the fire that overtook the used book and computer solutions store in the building.

Officials say they were on scene controlling the area for nearly 12 hours.
