With Black Friday over, today is all about the little guys getting a piece of the action on Small Business Saturday.
It's the third year of a push to encourage holiday shoppers to shop the locally-owned businesses.
Here in the Quad Cities, many shops held open houses showcasing what they can offer for you this holiday season.
Small business owners say it helps everyone staying local.
"It's easy to spend money online, it's easy to shop online but I think more and more people are realizing that their money has more effect on their community and their lifestyle if it's put at a local business," says Amy Trimble, Co-owner of WaterMark Corners in Moline.
The National Retail Federation says last year US consumers spent $45 billion on the weekend after Thanksgiving.
