The mad dash for Black Friday sales got out of control at a QC Walmart, and one shopper caught the madness on video.
Mathew Harris says he couldn't believe his eyes when a worker at the Moline Walmart unveiled a shelf filled with discounted cell phones, and a fight broke out as shoppers tried to grab the goods, "It's like watching the discovery channel, people just going nuts like animals, you know."
Harris captured the madness on his camera. It happened around 10 o'clock Thursday night when a Black Friday deal went up for grabs.
"I just thought it be kind of funny to watch people, just to see how they would react to it. I wasn't expecting that."
Harris says one shopper started the whole thing, "All of the sudden he popped up and started shoving everybody out of the way and then everybody started screaming. Turned into a madhouse, and another guy passed out."
In a matter of seconds, you can see dozens of people in the video getting pushed and shoved, "Everybody just started going crazy and they were literally jumping over each other to get those cell phones."
Harris says it's a good thing Moline police swooped in when they did, "It calmed down just as quickly as it escalated. It got out of hand for probably 15 to 20 seconds, and then it was all back to normal again."
Police say one woman hurt her arm, but there were no serious injuries or arrests. We called Walmart for comment, but we never heard back.
