The busiest travel day of the year has turned into the most frustrating for some QC travelers.
The fog this morning caused cancellations and delays at the Quad City International Airport.
So folks looking to head out of town for the holidays are going to have to be patient.
"It's pretty frustrating, you would think they would have more people set up here, but the staff seems to be doing a pretty good job. They are trying the best they can, but people are just getting frustrated," says Matt Jakubowski, a QC Resident.
One couple flying home from their honeymoon had not one, but two flights canceled from Chicago to Moline.
"It was definitely very frustrating especially holiday traffic, it was wondering how many days we might get stranded," says Lindsey Schoon, of Davenport.
But instead of taking any chances of a third cancellation, they rented a car and drove back.
"The fog was so bad last night and this morning you couldn't see 10 ft in front of you and I think the airlines did the right thing by canceling the flights," says Schoon.
But folks we talked to say, it could be worse, it's taking a little longer, but they are staying true to what thanksgiving is all about.
"Well, I'd like to be negative, but it's thanksgiving. The people that are struggling are the ones trying to help with the tickets and they didn't order the fog. The last thing they want to do is have us here," says Austin Allen, a QC Traveler.
