December is fast approaching and it's the best time to spot our nations icon, the bald eagle.
As the weather gets colder many people want to stay indoors, but if you want to see bald eagles you have to tough out the cold.
Kathy Wine with River Action says bald eagles only come this far South a few short months every year.

So to spot them, you need to know exactly where to look. Lock and Dam 14 in LeClaire and 15 by the Arsenal are the most popular places.
