Illinois Officials Push for Illegal Immigrant Licenses

Illinois lawmakers are working on a measure that would give driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.

Lawmakers say it would ultimately make roads safer. That's because there are about 250,000 immigrant drivers on the road, who can't get insurance.

Illegal immigrants contribute to more than $660 million in insurance claims in the state.

New Mexico and Washington already require licenses for illegal immigrants.
