Two sex offenders are charged after investigations revealed that they were coaching youth sports in Whiteside County.
Philip Plattenberger, of Mt. Carroll was arrested today and charged with being a child sex offender in a park and a child sex offender involved with a program exclusively for children under 18. Police say Plattenberger was coaching a youth baseball team in Fulton.
Scott Eyrich, of Morrison is charged with being a child sex offender associated with a program for children under 18. An investigation showed Eyrich was coaching youth football, also in Fulton.
Eyrich was originally arrested in October. Police say both investigations began with anonymous tips to law enforcement.
