A Davenport sex offender uses his dog to try and escape the law.
Officers say just before 5:00 p.m. Monday night, they were doing a sex offender compliance check in the 2100 block of Harrison Street. They said Thomas Brunton was wanted for failing to register, but he didn't want to cooperate. Police said Brunton released his Doberman pincher on an officer who was forced to shoot to stop the attack. The bullet grazed the dog, it only has minor injuries.
