Downtown Rock Island got a hefty donation from Wells Fargo today. One hundred thousand dollars went to the 'growth program' to restore more old rock island homes that need some TLC.

This week 'GROWTH' is showing off homes they've already helped renovate in the 'Old Chicago' area.

City officials say they are thrilled to use the money to help rebuild Rock Island.

Wells Fargo reps say it's an easy investment.

"For us it makes perfect sense because we have deep roots in this community. This institution has been around for a long, long time and what better way to celebrate that longevity and success then by helping with something like this," says John Stavnes, President of Wells Fargo, Quad Cities.

On Sunday, there will be an open house to show off the new homes in the Old Chicago neighborhood.
