Local high school students went to sessions with topics that ranged from financial aid to making academic and career decisions.
Organizers said the main goal of the event was to inspire Quad City area young people to meet their future goals while connecting with diverse area leaders.
"We want them to start really connecting with who they are as a person, what are the gifts and talents they have naturally? And how might they like to use those gifts and talents in the world of work to be productive citizens?" said Valerie Garr Director of Diversity at the University of Iowa's nursing school.
The conference ended with a panel of Quad City college students talking about their experiences.
