RI man found guilty in death of his son

A Rock Island man was convicted Wednesday of murdering his four-year-old son.

After five hours of deliberation, the jury found 20-year-old Demetrius Phillips guilty of killing Lyrik Phillips in December of 2010.

Phillips says his son's death was an accident. He claimed he was frustrated and threw his son on the bed, but the boy bounced and hit his head on the table and then the floor.

Phillips faces between 20 and 60 years in prison for killing his child. He'll be sentenced January 11th.
