Can the Illinois pension system be fixed? A group of Chicago business and school leaders told its members Wednesday, they don't think it can.
The Civic Club says that current retirees' benefits will have to be cut.
Also, state employees and teachers will likely never see the benefits promised to them.
They also said drastic action, including cutting down costs of living increases and capping salaries, are needed to stop the system from collapsing.
