Bettendorf educator named counselor of the year

Enthusiasm, commitment, and creativity; all qualities that are setting one Quad City educator above the rest.

Michelle Bruty has been named this year's Iowa middle school counselor of the year. Bruty, who works at Bettendorf middle school, was recognized for a counseling program she developed. The program includes an at risk students' service project that raised money for a rain collection system in Africa.
