The woman accused of hitting and killing a Knox College student with her car was in court on Tuesday.
33 year old Lakeesha Smith is charged with DUI and leaving the scene of a deadly accident.
Police said last month, she hit and killed Tundun Lawanie while she was crossing the street in Galesburg.
Now there are ribbons lining the street and a memorial where she died.
In court, prosecutors were granted access to Smith's DNA so it could be tested to prove that she was driving the car.
Smith will be back in court Monday for a preliminary hearing.
