There's a new place to grab some grub in Rock Island.
Goombazz Big City Eatzz held a pizza cutting today. It's kind of like a ribbon cutting, only cheesier.
The new restaurant on 18th Avenue opened with help from city development programs. And to pay it forward, it's giving back to the community by donating to Family Resources and the Center for Family Resources.
So what's on the menu? A little bit of everything, from virtually everywhere. "If you want St. Louis Ribs, we got ‘em," said Goombazz owner Brenda Brewer. "If you want New York style pizza, we got it. You want Chicago hot dog, we got it. And if you want San Francisco Sandwiches and deli sandwiches from New York? We got it."
In case you were wondering, restaurant owners say a "goomba" is Italian for friend.
