The City Council in Clinton, Iowa has asked the City Administrator to step down.
City Administrator Jeffrey Horne has been absent from his duties since October 17th. He has been using sick days and vacation time to account for the time off for "personal reasons."
On Monday morning the council met and voted unanimously to recommend that Horne resign. If he agrees to resign a resolution to accept his resignation will be voted on at Tuesday's council meeting.
Horne has been City Administrator since October of 2009.
