It's happy 237th birthday to the Marine Corps, and the Quad Cities were part of the celebration.
Saturday night a Quad Cities JROTC group held a Marine Corps ball at Davenport North.
162 cadets were in their dress blues to greet their guest of honor and watch drill teams perform.
One ROTC instructor said it's a proud moment for him.
"These are young people that are going to next serve this country and it's a great feeling to see them and be able to pass things on to these guys," said Darwin McNeil, an ROTC Marine Instructor.
You can see the cadets Sunday marching in the Veteran's Day parade in Davenport.
