You can already see downtown Moline getting ready for the holidays. Businesses are dressing up for "Get Jazzed for the Holidays."
If you visited one of several downtown businesses Friday or Saturday, you could've gotten a $5 voucher book to help support the downtown area.
It's all meant to help get everyone in the holiday spirit while supporting local shops.
Business owners say it's events like these that help people remember to buy local whenever possible.
"You can pretty much go to any place in the country and go buy a big box, nothing wrong with that, but the more unique items you're going to find by local," says Bob Rebitzer, Manager of the Bier Stube. "[You should] support the downtown area and the mom and pop shops and stuff like that."
The holiday spirit continues next Saturday for Lighting on the Commons in Moline.
