The lack of snow and ice last year also meant city workers could focus on other projects.
"They spent more time out on the street doing street repairs, less time hauling salt," said Steve Russell of the Davenport Public Works Department.
And patching up all the potholes is no small task.
So far this year, city crews have patched more than 41 thousand potholes.
And the pothole problem only gets worse in the winter months.
