Rock Island road to close Friday

If you're traveling through Rock Island, you may need to find a different way around.

Starting Friday morning at 8:00, 18th Avenue in Rock Island will close between 1st Street and the Rock Island Parkway, so crews can fix the railway crossing there. Drivers will be detoured to 6th Avenue.

No word on how long it will take for the work to be done.
