Job Fairs helping local vets

Quad Citians are recognizing our veterans by welcoming them into the work place.

The "We Hire Vets Pledge", is part of the QC chamber's initiative to help veterans transition back into civilian life.

The idea is for area businesses to recognize the importance, and qualification of our service men and women. Chamber leaders say as soldiers come home from active duty, the community needs to show support.

Also, a job fair will be held at Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg Friday from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Businesses within a 50 mile radius will be there.

Veterans are encouraged to come early at 10:30 AM for a preview. They can also get help with their resumes and interviewing skills.
