Silvis burn ban goes up in smoke

A proposal to ban leaf burning in Silvis went up in smoke in Tuesday night's election. 

Sixty-three percent of voters said no to the ban.

The Silvis city council spent years debating whether or not to create a burn ban.

However, the alternative of collecting fallen leaves could cost taxpayers more than $100,000.
