The Salvation Army of the Quad Cities hopes to make the holidays brighter for underprivileged children with the 2012 Angel Tree Program.
The annual holiday program provides new toys for children of families who are having a hard time adding Christmas gifts to their budget.
All four QCA Wal-Mart stores will have a tree decorated with paper angel tags listing a child's age, gender and toy ideas. Anyone wanting to participate can select an angel tag from the tree and purchase a gift for a child. New, unwrapped toys for a child, along with the original tag can be returned to any Angel Tree location. The last day you can choose an angel is Saturday, December 15th.
The Salvation Army says over 3,000 children will be served by the program.
Locations beginning November 23rd include: NorthPark Mall at the JC Penney Court, SouthPark Mall at Younkers Court, and the Chick-fil-A on 53rd Avenue in Davenport.
Angel Tree volunteers are needed to at the mall locations. If you want to volunteer, go to www.ringbells.org for more information. If you are interested in hosting an Angel Tree at your office or church, contact Holly Nomura at (563) 271-7933.
