Election Day is right around the corner. If you live in Iowa and want to avoid those long lines Tuesday, you're in luck.
Early voting continues in Scott County today at the administrative center.
All other early polling sites have closed and that will be the only place you can vote today.
So far in Scott County, a record more than 41,000 applied for absentee ballots. That's 5,000 more than in 2008.
Scott County Auditor Roxanna Moritz says it doesn't matter when you cast your ballot, as long as you still vote.
"There are policies and procedures that follow every ballot in this process," says Moritz. "So whether you're voting early or on Election Day - all of those votes count."
You can vote Monday at the administrative center up until 5 p.m.
The Scott County auditor's office is still looking for 15% of absentee ballots requested. If you haven't turned in your absentee ballot yet in Iowa, election organizers say don't worry, you still can.
"If you have an absentee ballot out, you can bring it to the auditor's office up until 9 p.m. Tuesday or they have a couple of options at their polling locations," Moritz adds.
Those options include invalidating your absentee ballot and submitting a new one or turning in your absentee ballot if you didn't have a chance to mail it.
If you do plan on voting Tuesday, election organizers say there's still going to be plenty of people.
"Make sure if you're voting from 7 a.m. – 9 a.m. or 3 p.m. – 6 p.m., those are really busy times at the polls; be prepared to wait a little bit," Moritz explains.
