When East Moline fire crews showed up to put the blaze out on 12th street, they soon realized flames weren't their only problem.
The fire chief says his crews found a water main break when they went to put the fire out.
Although it didn't stop them from fighting the fire,
Neighbors on the block are now left high and dry.
"Thank god there was no loss of life, everybody's safe and you know as a neighborhood, we come together," says Jeannie Lewis, a neighbor.
The fire was contained in the garage, but smoke got into the house.
Leaving
Pam Tone without a home for coming months.
"You know my house can be replaced but life can't and my family's fine and that's all that matters," says Pam Tone, the homeowner.
She isn't the only one on the block in a jam; she says can lean on a little help from her friendly neighbors.
"We have great neighbors who come together to help us, you know, you just do," says Tone.
