This year's John Deere Classic was a swinging success.
The tournament raised more than six million dollars for local charities.
That's a million and a half more than last year.
Board members say it's wonderful that the tournament gets bigger and better every year.
This year, more than twenty thousand donated to the birdies for charity program.
"People love having a major league sporting event in town and this really is their only major league sporting event. And then when it's all said and done, the ability to deliver money to charity is really our main mission," said Clair Peterson, tournament director.
Peterson says the tournament also helps boost the local economy by bringing tourists to the Quad Cities.
