Mysterious explosion rocks Smithland

A deadly explosion occurred in western Iowa Wednesday morning.

It happened around 11:30 AM in Smithland. Authorities say they don't know how it happened, but an explosion caught an old service station on fire, destroying the building. Officials say a man was found dead outside.

His name isn't being released at this time and a cause of death is unknown.
